With the lockdown still in place, things are understandably as quiet here as elsewhere. That said, we sold two bulling heifers in February and another two cows, which will be going to their new home in September once they are safely in calf. This will leave us with our target of four to calve next Spring (three cows and a heifer) and two yearling heifers to go in next year and one heifer calf so we should have two or three Longhorn females available next year.
On the sheep front, we had a good lambing season with the weather on side for a change. Our new Oxford Down ram, Greenlands Roland, has thrown some of the best lambs we have had for some years including three or four ram lambs which look absolutely top class.
